Craft Pottery Charitable Trust (CPCT)

The Craft Pottery Charitable Trust (CPCT), established in 1991 under Emmanuel Cooper’s Chairmanship of the CPA, supports a wide range of educational activities related to ceramics across the UK. For over two decades, the Annual Ceramics Grant scheme has benefited potters and ceramicists, from recent graduates to experienced CPA Fellows.

  • Recently supported by the Headley Trust and the Hargreaves and Ball Trust
  • Fund-raising through tombolas and auctions enables ongoing support

Felicity Aylieff

Felicity, the Acting Head of Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art, is renowned for her research into large-scale ceramics. Based in Bath for over three decades, she collaborates with factories in Jingdezhen, China, creating monumental pots.

Kyra Cane

Kyra is a successful potter who has also been a lecturer in ceramics and drawing since 1986. She was course leader of Harrow Ceramics at the University of Westminster from 2000 to 2009 and is an experienced external examiner.

John Higgins

John is a CPA Fellow and President of the Dacorum and Chiltern Potters Guild. He has a BA from Wolverhampton College of Art and a PGCE in Art Education. His work has been widely exhibited internationally, including a 2014 residency in Australia.

Chris Keenan

Chris started working with clay in his mid-30s as Edmund de Waal's apprentice. He makes pots for domestic use & display. A CPA Fellow, he teaches at West Dean College, with work in the V&A and Ashmolean Museum. Recently, he was an artist-in-residence

Nigel Lambert

Nigel has earned international recognition. His thrown and altered pots combine bold contemporary shapes, with his unique style of decoration and strong sense of function. He is is Co-Director of the Grange Barns Gallery.

Clare Twomey

Clare, an artist & research fellow at the University of Westminster, works with clay in large-scale installations and sculptures. Over the past 10 years, she has exhibited at the V&A, Tate, Crafts Council, MoMA Kyoto, Eden Project, and Royal Academy
