The Craft Potters Association of Great Britain
Excellence in British studio ceramics
Founded in 1958, The Craft Potters Association of Great Britain (CPA) aims to promote contemporary studio pottery. From our early days in Soho to our current home in Bloomsbury, CPA has been dedicated to promoting and supporting its member artists.
As a member of the International Academy of Ceramics, the CPA today boasts a thriving community with over 2,000 associates and more than 300 Selected and Fellow members. Our members span from renowned potters to emerging talents in contemporary ceramics. Our membership offers numerous learning, networking, showcasing opportunities, and other resources to aid the progression of the craft.
CPA also promotes ceramic art through the ‘Contemporary Ceramics’ shop & gallery in central London, the print and digital bi-monthly ‘Ceramic Review’ magazine, and flagship events in London, York, and Oxford, along with supported exhibitions and workshops across the UK.
About Craft Pottery Charitable Trust (CPCT)

In 1991, under Emmanuel Cooper’s chairmanship, the CPCT was established to support educational activities in ceramics across the UK. For over two decades, our Annual Ceramics Grant scheme has benefited potters and ceramicists, from recent graduates to experienced CPA Fellows. This initiative, funded through Tombolas and personal bequests, fosters the growth and development of ceramic artistry.
